Gorillaz! Voltará, voltará... Gorillaz!

Esse nome me foi familiar nos tempos em que estudava no ensino médio quando ainda morava em Nova Iguaçu. Nosso professor de História se amarrava na banda e volta e meia entre as aulas levava um CD Player para animar os alunos e fazer com que eles refletissem sobre as letras.

Não vou mentir que na época meu inglês era fraco, assim não entendia praticamente nada do que a letra tentava transmitir (na verdade ainda tenho dificuldade pra entender o inglês quando escuto uma música, mas curiosamente não tenho problemas para leitura de textos). Esses dias meu namorado e eu estávamos conversando sobre cantores, bandas, o programa X-Factor e ele ao ler que a banda estava para lançar um novo álbum me perguntou: "Você gosta de Gorillaz?" Eu respondi que não gostava muito, e ainda sim por insistência escutei novamente depois de muito tempo.

Resultado? Tenho escutado a música Dirty Harry todo dia. o.o'

A música é uma referência ao personagem e filme Dirty Harry representado pelo ator Clint Eastwood, além de ter pontos que apontam eventos da guerra contra o Iraque durante a administração do ex-presidente dos EUA, George W. Bush.

Enfim, a ideia era comentar justamente que a banda deve retornar depois de um longo período. Aparentemente como mostra no site oficial, o retorno será no dia 28/04/2017 e a música Saturnz Barz está disponível no YouTube.

Gorillaz é uma banda focada no rock alternativo, com alguns elementos de pop britânico, dub e música eletrônica nascida na Inglaterra. Após esse período sem escutar a banda, e mesmo sendo um fã mais voltado ao rock tradicional, metal e folk recomendo uma conferida nas músicas.
